A state employee is accused of driving from Deming to Farmington with the pursuit of having sex with a 13-year-old girl.
According to court documents, the Farmington Police Department made the arrest through an online undercover sting.
Kelly Benningfield, 46, reportedly entered a Yahoo chat room and solicited sex from what he thought was a minor.
Benningfield, a Department of Transportation employee, sent underwear, a cell phone and webcam to Farmington in hopes of getting images from the girl.
Police arrested Benningfield after he drove to Farmington to meet the girl.
